Waypoint Gauntlet - Spring Edition
Waypoint Gauntlet – Spring Edition
The Waypoint Gauntlet is a 3-hour endurance challenge held at Rancho Kingamongo. Athletes will push through three disciplines across the ranch trail system: mountain biking, rucking, and trail running.
Each hour introduces a new modality. Your goal is simple — complete as many laps as possible before the clock runs out. Only laps finished before the hour cutoff count, so pacing and strategy matter.
The final hour finishes in darkness. Headlamps required.
This is not a race with divisions or categories. It’s a proving ground — a chance to test yourself, push your limits, and see what you’re capable of.
Spots are limited to 10 athletes.
Event Format
The Gauntlet is a 3-hour endurance challenge divided into three one-hour segments.
Hour 1 — Mountain Bike
Ride the ranch trail loop and complete as many laps as possible.
Hour 2 — Ruck
Ruck the same trail loop with a 35 lb pack for males 25 lb pack for females. Laps must be completed before the hour cutoff to count.
Hour 3 — Trail Run
Run the trail loop as many times as possible. This segment finishes in darkness, so headlamps are required.
Your final score is the total number of laps completed across all three disciplines.
Strategy matters. If you begin a lap but do not cross the finish line before the hour ends, that time carries into the next discipline.
Required Gear
Athletes must bring their own equipment:
• Mountain bike
• Helmet
• Ruck or backpack with 35/25 lb weight. (Can possibly provide weights if needed, contact for details)
• Headlamp (required for the final trail run segment)
Rucks will be weighed prior to the start of the event.
Athletes should also bring their own hydration and nutrition for the duration of the challenge.

Iron and Dirt Gauntlet
Where strength meets endurance — and grit meets the trail.
The Iron & Dirt Gauntlet is a hybrid endurance challenge designed to test both body and mind. Competitors take on a full loop of the White River Trail System’s Red Loop, tackle Grace (30 clean & jerks at 135/95 lbs), then finish with another lap of the Red Loop — all for time.
It’s not about perfection — it’s about heart. Whether you’re a mountain biker, a CrossFitter, or just someone who loves to push limits, this event blends the best of both worlds: raw strength and outdoor adventure.
Hosted by Waypoint Training Co., this is the first chapter in the Waypoint Gauntlet Series, where athletes face unique tests that challenge endurance, resilience, and character.
